The Theory and Hazard Perception Test are the first two tests you have to pass before you can apply for your driving test. Both have to be passed at the same time, fail one, fail them both.

The Theory Test is a multiple choice test with 50 questions, you need to pass 43 to pass.  They are not hard questions, provided you do your homework, they will also help you in your driving life over the future years, so it is very important that you learn and understand them.  It is very easy to learn the Theory Test in a rote fashion, where you learn to recognize answers without actually gaining any knowledge.  Sadly this is what most people do, unfortunately it won't be long before those people find themselves in potential danger as they have no understanding.  So my advice is learn AND understand the questions, if you don't understand them, then ask your driving instructor, who will be only too pleased to explain.

Remember,
There is no such thing as a daft question, unless you don't ask it.

The Hazard Perception Test is a serious of videos, in which you are the driver and you need to recognise developing hazards.  There are 13 video clips each with one hazard in it and one with two hazards.  Each hazard has a maximum of 5 points, down to 0, the pass mark is 44 out of a possible 75 points.

If you have an android phone, or iphone then there is an app. to download from the market.  On android phones download the lite version to try for free then you can buy the full version from that app.
